the end of february has been cruel. i call one of my friends the collector of interesting people. i like to think i collect people much cooler than i am. yet today so many of them do not feel so. we may none of us be beautiful, but dude. they are sure as hell not ugly. okay.

when i was in high school my goal was to go to college. some college. a college. and do something. this is more fantastic than i had ever hoped.

when i talk to advisers who ask me what i want to do i say eventually i want to be a professor. or maybe work for the nsa. that seems like it would be cool. i want to do math i say.

when i call my best friend on the phone i tell him i dream of the field's as he dreams for the nobel and we are diverging.

when i call my best friend on the phone i tell her i want her to be nothing less than content. but that she should not settle.

when i wake from a nap, i can feel my dreams ebbing away. the last vision i can see clearly is the smell of salt water and a soft breeze. there are white walls and bookshelves of dark wood. there are open windows and the salt spray comes in. my feet are bare and i am sweeping a porch.

our first show together was the morning of monday, december 7, 2009. the year 1987 brought to you during record hospital's beyond fantastic 25th anniversary orgy. the first ever flamenco orgy revenge was an impromptu intermission during the whrb winter orgy season. we played from the rh playlist that morning, spanning nearly an hour between 1987 and the flamenco orgy. we were rescued that frantic monday morning by eric with his computer instructions, jazz and isaac with their file, and carl who came in to babysit. the whole thing ended with a long night, early morning trip to dunkin' donuts.

Calm is usually follwed by more calm

And volatility by more volatility.

There's a stack of composition books in my room at home, containing

from my tenth year onward. As my handwriting became smaller, the more things fit into one book.

Composition books: perfect size, perfectly bound, preciously fresh. But never fussy. Those beautiful red notebooks and leatherbound things with the little carving of dragonflies and colored lines. I am always so afraid of ruining them with my scribbles. Composition books, after you break in the first few pages, they start to feel softer and worn and friendly. Blankets of soft down where the the feathers migrate from one corner to the other, creating lumps in just the right places.

It's about time to get a new book, about twenty something pages left in this current one carried around since June. Taped and glued together a collage of crumpled wrapping paper and magazine clippings.

Trolling CurvedWhite, came across skrov, which has these awesome project ideas. Some a lot more feasible than others. This slanted notebook rule is all kinds of awesome. My new notebook might take to a little personalization like that, yeah?
